EXPERIMENTS IN WATERCOLOR & PHOTO
After years of corporate designing in a very consumer, commercial, digital format, I needed to break out of the patterns that were sucking the fun out of design. This lead me away from my desk and into my bathroom where I could make a monumental mess of watercolor in the bathtub.
I scanned my watercolor elements into a computer and began to experiment with blend modes and photography, graphics, and some light-weight illustration.
Not all of them were masterpieces, but the experience was truly cathartic. These were the seeds that would grow into the idea that a comfortable, salary job designing for a slimy, corporate marketing department wasn’t for me; so I think some of the pieces from those watercolor design sessions deserve a place here.
